Especismo

El especismo es una discriminación en función de la especie. Al ser humano le enseñan el especismo desde la infancia, haciéndole creer que está por encima de los demás animales, discriminando al que no pertenece a su especie, llendo a circos con animales, a zoológicos, sirviendo animales como comida, por ejemplo, menospreciando la vida del resto de las especies como si fuese algo normal. Así como el sexismo es discriminación en función del sexo, o el racismo en función de la raza, por ejemplo.

Veganismo

El veganismo es una actitud de respeto. Veganismo es respetar la vida y el sufrimiento de los animales evitando al máximo participar en su explotación.

Esto conlleva llevar una dieta sin productos de origen animal (vegetariana 100% o dieta vegana). Esta forma de consumo se extiende también al vestido rechazando los productos animales, pues comprar por ejemplo lana o cuero es una manera directa de financiar la explotación animal. El veganismo también implica no colaborar con el encierro, comercialización o la matanza de animales: circos, zoos, delfinarios, compra-venta de animales, caza, etc.. Y en definitiva es una lucha en busca de un futuro justo para todos independientemente de la especie a la que pertenezcamos.

El veganismo se propone no como una opción personal, sino como una responsabilidad de todo agente moral.

Veganism is an attitude of respect.

Veganism is respect for the life and the suffering

of animals avoiding to the maximum to take part

in his/her exploitation. This carries to take a diet without

products of animal origin (vegetarian 100 %).

This form of consumption spreads also to the garment

rejecting the animal products, so to buy for example wool or

leather is a direct way of financing the animal exploitation.

Veganism also implies not to colaborate with the confinement,

commercialization or the slaughter of animals: circuses, zoos,

acuariums, dealing animals, hunting, etc.. And definitively it

is a fight in search of a just future for all, independently of

the species to which we belong. Veganism proposes not as

a personal option, but as a responsibility of all moral agent.

La base del veganismo es el rechazo al especismo. El especismo, o la discriminación en función de la especie, es la causa de la explotación animal. La sociedad en la que vivimos nos educa para que consideremos que las personas humanas merecen un respeto sagrado, mientras que los animales no humanos están ahí para nuestro beneficio. Crecemos pensando que los seres humanos somos seres superiores mientras que los animales son simples cosas animadas cuya vida realmente no es importante y por tanto podemos utilizar a nuestro antojo.

Sentimos cierta empatía por gatos o perros, pues los tenemos cerca, pero una vaca, un cerdo, una trucha o una gallina nos son muy ajenos, sólo los vemos envasados listos para su consumo y jamás nos planteamos si esta bien o mal disponer de su vida como lo hacemos. Poner las cosas en su sitio y valorar objetivamente por qué merecen respeto los animales nos lleva a una actitud vegana.

The base of veganism is the rejection of specism.

Specism, or discrimination depending on the species,

is the reason of the animal exploitation. In the society we

live in, educates us in order that we think that the human persons

deserve a sacred respect, whereas the not human animals are there

for our benefit. We grow thinking that human beings are

top beings whereas the animals are simple animated things which

life really is not important and therefore we can use to our whim.

We feel certain empathy for cats or dogs, since we have them nearby,

but a cow, a pork, a trout or a hen to us are very foreign, only we

see packagings ready for its consumption and we never stop to think if

it is good or bad to take use of his/her life like we do. Putting things in its place,

and to value objectibly why animals deserve respect take us to a vegan attitude.
